Pen and Wash Paintings Gallery

Gallery Details

My Pen and Wash studies are done using several sepia hues with an accent of orange. I have stayed with this concept to unify my approach to these preliminary works. Since it is a challenge to create a pen and wash drawing in several values, these works give me a chance to see how appropriate the subject matter might be in a full creation. Of course I can use some of the details from these studies when needed in other paintings.

My Art Objectives

These pen and wash studies are done as a way to know whether the subject matter and composition will work for a larger painting. I don't always go on to create a painting from these studies, but I have a framework for making a new painting at some later date.
